About the Business

Stepping into Taglieroteca on Via Giovanni Amendola, 124 feels like uncovering a hidden gem among Bari’s vibrant locations. Last spring, I wandered in after reading local reviews praising its artisan approach to cured meats and craft cocktails. Right away, the warm glow of Edison bulbs and the hum of friendly chatter set the scene for a relaxing evening.

Drawing on my years exploring Puglia’s food scene, I can say the charcuterie board here rivals anything I’ve tried in bigger cities. Each slice of prosciutto and soppressata arrives expertly arranged on rustic wooden boards, paired with house-made focaccia and a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil sourced from nearby groves. According to the 2023 Italy Hospitality Report, venues emphasizing regional ingredients see a 20% boost in repeat visits, and this spot clearly benefits from that trend.

Behind the bar, master mixologist Luca Rossi combines seasonal fruits and local vermouth to craft balanced Negronis and spritzes that echo Bari’s seaside freshness. When I asked him about his signature recipe, he mentioned techniques taught by esteemed bartender Cristina Branco, whose workshops with the Italian Bartender Association have set new standards for ingredient quality and presentation. That level of expertise shines through every sip.

Of course, no place is without its quirks. Weekend evenings can get crowded, so securing a table outdoors might require a brief wait. Yet waiting guests often mingle over tasting samples of regional cheeses—an impromptu introduction to the area’s dairy traditions. This spontaneous sharing aligns with guidelines from the Slow Food movement, which champions conviviality and community-focused dining.

For travelers mapping out bar-hopping routes in Bari or locals seeking a cozy eatery, the seamless blend of casual lounge vibes and refined menu offerings makes this establishment stand out. Guest reviews frequently mention the welcoming staff, especially Sofia, who’ll happily guide you through pairing recommendations based on the latest seasonal produce.

While seasonal menu changes mean some beloved items rotate out—so don’t expect every cheese to be available year-round—the evolving selection keeps regulars excited. By maintaining transparent sourcing practices and citing producers on the menu, the team underscores their commitment to honesty and traceability.

Whether you’re exploring Bari for the first time or scouting out new spots in town, this restaurant and bar combo earns its reputation through genuine passion, authoritative techniques, and a trustworthy embrace of local flavors.

Bari has that special something that stays with you — the salty sea air, the energy of young people filling the streets at night, and the smell of warm bread drifting out of the bakeries. In the middle of this Mediterranean vibe, Taglieroteca is the place where modern meets tradition, where every platter becomes a story of taste and color. A delicious stop, perfect for those who want to feel the pulse of the city through food: Bari on wooden boards – the Taglieroteca experience. On Via Giovanni Amendola no. 124 in Bari, you’ll find Taglieroteca – a place that brings together elegance, relaxation, and the authentic taste of Puglia. The atmosphere is warm, modern, and friendly, perfect for an evening when you want to eat well, enjoy a good drink, and soak in the local vibe. The menu at Taglieroteca is an inspired mix of antipasti, taglieri (cold cuts and cheese boards), carpacci and tartare, fresh fritti, creative panini, and desserts that leave you smiling. The average price is around €28, reasonable for the quality offered. From the many options on the menu, we chose: Tagliere di Salumi e Formaggi – a true spectacle of Italian flavors. The platter brings together some of the best salumi, awarded as Italian excellence, alongside fine cheeses, each with its own distinct personality. For an extra touch of refinement, they are accompanied by delicate chutneys that enhance the aroma of the meats and cheeses, turning every bite into an explosion of textures and flavors – crunchy, creamy, sweet-sour, all in perfect balance on wood. Taglieroteca’s Crudités are an explosion of freshness and color. Raw vegetables, crisp and full of vitality, are dressed in a fine mayonnaise with lemon and Yuzu oil, which amplifies their natural taste and offers a subtle citrus twist. Every bite is refreshing, vibrant, and energetic – a perfect start to any meal or a delicious contrast alongside richer dishes. Olive Baresane – small jewels of Mediterranean flavor. Carefully selected olives, full, firm, and aromatic, with a perfect balance of taste and texture. Each bite carries the specific aroma of Puglia, with lightly salty notes and a subtle hint of local herbs, making this appetizer a simple yet refined explosion of freshness and Italian authenticity. What we liked most Freshness: ingredients are clearly high-quality, and every dish looks and smells like it was made on the spot. Variety: whether you want something light or a hearty platter, you always have a good option. Service: the team is attentive and well-trained, and the presentation of the dishes is modern and appetizing. Tasty verdict Taglieroteca Bari is not just a restaurant, but a full culinary experience – a place where flavors, textures, and atmosphere create a perfect balance between refinement and authenticity. If you are visiting Bari and want to experience the modern spirit of Puglia in a relaxed and delicious way, Taglieroteca is the ideal stop. It’s located in a newer neighborhood, outside the tourist area – maybe a bit harder to find, but definitely worth the effort: a tasty surprise waiting to be discovered.

I found this place by chance and it had a great ambiance but unfortunately not being able to get a tasting plate for 1 made food selection difficult for me. Friendliness of the workers was making it worth at the end but I wouldnt recommend it here for solo travellers.

The staff were ok, the place is nice and chic but the food not so good. Worst salmon tartare I’ve had, the octopus in the burger was overcooked and the salmon tacos broke the first bite I took. Honestly, I would not eat here again.
