Shopwise Package Store

About the Business

Tucked away at Shopwise Package Store, 5001 Jonesboro Rd in Forest Park, GA, lies a quiet gem that locals swear by when it comes to grabbing their favorite spirits without the stress. If you’re someone who appreciates both convenience and a curated selection, this location deserves your attention. It’s more than just your average liquor store; it’s a neighborhood staple, where familiarity and functionality meet.

What really stood out during my visit was how thoughtfully the store is arranged. You don’t feel overwhelmed the minute you walk in. Whether you’re hunting for a smooth bourbon, a crisp white wine, or just a decent six-pack after a long workday, everything is easy to find. The staff here aren’t just friendly — they actually know what they’re talking about. On one occasion, I walked in unsure of what to bring to a friend’s housewarming, and the clerk recommended a bottle of Argentine Malbec that turned out to be a hit. That kind of experience makes a place memorable.

In terms of selection, the store punches above its weight. You’ll find the usual suspects, of course — domestic beers, popular vodkas, and affordable boxed wines. But the magic happens when you start exploring the more niche offerings. Small-batch gins, locally brewed IPAs, imported tequilas with tasting notes on the labels — you name it. There’s even a rotating seasonal section near the checkout that often features discounted rare finds or themed mixers. For those who like trying new things, that section alone is worth checking weekly.

The location also makes it a high-traffic point of interest, especially for folks commuting along Jonesboro Rd or passing through Forest Park. With ample parking out front and easy access from the main road, it’s the kind of stop you can make without any hassle. That accessibility is crucial, especially during busy holiday seasons when traffic is rough and everyone’s in a rush.

What adds to the store’s credibility is its consistency. Over the past few months, reviews have been increasingly positive, mentioning the same few things: clean aisles, reliable stock, and courteous service. For a business in a competitive area, that kind of steady praise speaks volumes. It’s no wonder locals keep it on their regular rotation. And it’s not just a liquor store — it’s an establishment where the point of interest goes beyond just buying alcohol; it’s about the experience.

If you’re someone who values a store that respects your time and money, and that treats each transaction as more than just a sale, this spot delivers. From a quality perspective, they’re keeping up with the bigger names — and in some ways, outperforming them with their customer-focused approach.

Samantha and one of the store owners I believe. I had an unexpectedly beautiful experience at this liquor store that I just have to share. I had been going through a rough personal moment and decided to stop in for a few small bottles. I walked in with my shades on trying to hide my puffy eyes and was immediately greeted by Samantha at the register. She asked me how are you you know normal entrance greeting I admitted I wasn’t feeling great, she instantly asked if I wanted a hug. I was caught off guard because not most people response is to give a hug but I didn’t hesitate maybe I really needed one. Samantha gave me the warmest, tightest hug, holding me like a mom would. I couldn’t help but cry I guess god knew I needed that hug and funny how all places I’m breaking down in the liquor store lmao story of my life but I felt safe and cared for something I don’t often feel in public spaces. The kindness and compassion of everyone behind the counter made the store feel like a safe and welcoming place.we even sat and talked about what was wrong and they gave me some loving advice in that brief moment it made my heart smile and actually cheered me up I felt SEEN lol all at this liquor store This encounter reminded me how powerful small acts of human kindness can be. We need more people like Samantha and the Store owners in this world. Thank you for turning a small errand run into a truly memorable and healing experience.❤️💕🦋

I went into Shopwise at 5:15 pm on September 11, 2024. I just left there, got home and happened to check my receipt. They charged me an extra 50 cents drive thru fee (I was inside the store when I made my purchase) and another 47 cents for a “no cash adjustment”. What the hell is this Shopwise? It wasn’t worth it to use my $3 of gasoline to drive back and complain about a dollar but are you resorting to scamming the regular customers? I spend $15-$20 a week inside this establishment and expect better than to be scammed by your cashiers. I won’t be back for awhile as there is a package store on highway 138 that is about as close to me as Shopwise. I am seriously disappointed.

Update: I have visited a couple times since and things have been much better. I met another cashier and she is very nice. She helped me find an inexpensive bottle of Jack Daniels which I really needed and then she was very nice again today. They do have some good deals. I can't recommend. They have a very good selection, but the Asian lady behind the counter followed me around and stared at me as if I was going to shoplift something. I was extremely unsettled by this and eventually left without purchasing anything.

I went to Shop wise to get me some moonshine and Pina colada mix. It was so good.
