Wee Pine Cabins Inc.

About the Business

Tucked away just off 10442 N Saginaw Rd in Clio, Michigan, Wee Pine Cabins Inc. is the kind of place you’d only find if you knew where to look—or if you were lucky enough to get a local tip. It doesn’t scream for attention, but that’s part of its charm. Think rustic simplicity, pine-scented air, and that sweet spot where privacy meets hospitality. Whether you’re traveling for a quick weekend escape, looking for a peaceful overnight stay, or passing through on a longer journey, this spot somehow fits just right.

My first visit came on the tail end of a fall road trip. No online booking, no flashy promises—just a phone call, a friendly voice, and a warm welcome when I arrived. The cabin I stayed in had that classic log-built vibe with just enough modern touch to feel comfortable. Clean sheets, reliable heat (it was chilly), and that unmistakable scent of aged timber made the stay feel more like home than hotel. The surroundings were quiet—only the occasional rustle of leaves and distant passing cars broke the silence.

In terms of lodging experience, Wee Pine hits a rare balance. While it doesn’t try to impress with fancy amenities, it wins you over with solid basics and authentic atmosphere. That kind of consistency matters, especially for travelers who’ve been burned by unpredictable roadside stays. Judging from other reviews and feedback, I’m not the only one who appreciated that straightforward comfort.

Business-wise, it functions as an establishment that wears multiple hats: it’s a point_of_interest for nature lovers and out-of-towners alike, while also standing firm in the lodging game. Its location on N Saginaw Rd means you’re close to town conveniences without feeling like you’re in the thick of it. Gas stations, diners, and groceries are a short drive away, yet you’ll fall asleep under a canopy of stars.

For those curious about staying here, I’d say don’t expect a five-star resort—expect something real. And sometimes, that’s worth more. It’s the kind of place where returning guests are remembered, and new ones feel like they’ve found a hidden gem.

Stayed a few nights, not having a fridge of some sort kind of sucked. Accidentally over slept due to working third shift and went past checkout, didnt give me any problems. Pretty quiet there, parking spots arent made for big guys and curtains are a bit see through. Overall decent experience

Quite, lovely grounds, but the housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired... and no storage for any food, drinks you have to bring..no trash can or dresser.. wasn't a completely bad night for the price..the owners are very friendly. I hope someone sees this new review...my husband and I stayed on June 13-25..after we got settled i went out to see the chickens and looked down and there was a "crack pipe" of course I don't know what it was used for but that was the first of many disappointments, the room was dirty, we found an empty container of vasiline under the bed when we were packing up to leave..nasty...I almost fell getting into the shower because the towel rack is just there, it's not attached to the ugly piece of wood on the wall...it literally came off in my hand....I thought i broke it...I didn't.. i know people stay at these places to have a place to sleep away from home...it is that... bring your own cleaners, garbage bags.... P.S. the smoke detector was not present 😲

I don't have a vehicle and walked to the rooms and there were 3 of us. We were gonna rent 2 rooms each paid separate. The owner walked up plain out said I ain't renting to y'all. The reasons were there were 3 of us. We explained we were renting 2 rooms paid separate. He then said doesn't matter you walked here I ain't renting to y'all. No where on the website or in the office does it say you have to have a car to rent. I will never go here again.

Stayed for a week or so. $50 a night, cash only. Super friendly and relaxing spot to stay. No reservations. I recommend cabin 8. Larger bathroom than a typical motel room.
